PROGRAM ON HEADACHE-ASSOCIATED MECHANISM AND TYPE DEFINITION

Is headache a problem?

The answer will certainly be yes. Moreover, it is a type of problem which both doctor and patient are to solve together. Complaints of a headache are so elementary and the symptoms so conspicuous, it seems almost needless that an issue so explicitly intended for therapists should even include a statement on identification. Yet medical records often appear with the diagnosis "chronic headache". Confusion may arise in diagnosing pain that can come or go from 1 hour or 1 day to the next. When any pain is described as "unbearable", especially, when it is diffuse or poorly localized the physician must be wary. Unbearable pain also may be a complaint of the patient who tends to embellish symptoms.

WHAT CAN THE HEADACHE PROGRAM DO?

When a person consults a doctor or turns to a chemist with either a typical or remarkable complaint of a headache, the Program can rapidly define its type and mechanism, make a diagnosis and recommend an appropriate drug or a set of medicines to be of favorable effect.

The Program's database consists of two parts - Diagnoses and Symptoms. The former includes areas of functional systems disorders and the latter contains detailed descriptions of painful conditions an individual may feel.

Looking through the symptoms list, the user marks those conditions that the patient has described on being questioned. Thereafter, the Program gives an account of the end result of questionary, i.e. it makes a diagnosis and prescribes the drugs which it has selected having regard to their contradictions.

The Program is easy to learn; the user does not need any computer experience to get started.
