Information storage and retrieval system
As more new pharmaceuticals enter the market, there is a net increase in their use
world wide. Trade in pharmaceuticals has spiralled up. In Russia, this increase
has led to growth and diversification of their proposal both in doctor's office
and in drugstore. What is more, many new drugs are designed in such a way that they
may be used by everyone even without a doctor's prescription. Though new drugs dramatically
contribute to human health and well-being, their continued introduction into general
consumption also brings considerable risks.
The New Drug Program has the objective to provide basic information about new drugs
and to help health providers identify priority drugs. The drugs included into the
database have been evaluated based on their pharmacological properties, curative
effects, mode of action, routes of administration, indications/contradictions and
precautions.
What can the Program do?
- Data are organized so that a specific medicinal agent can be searched quickly and
all information pertaining to that agent can be identified and retrieved easily;
- Medicinal agents can be listed to their pharmacological properties, viewed and printed.
- The agents available in the database can be selected based upon recommendations
on their use in
management of particular diseases and pathological conditions.
Being the product of a dynamic project, the information contained in the database is revised and expanded as required and
is kept up-to-date.
